Do you enjoy eating raw avocados? I was never a huge fan. The creamy texture is great – especially if the fruit (yes, it’s a fruit) is cold from the fridge. But they have a plain flavor, to me. They need lemon. Or salsa. Or a taco. Or…this killer good seasoning!
Avocados are such a great vegetarian source of fat, vitamin K, folate, vitamin C and several B vitamins. More potassium than bananas! 7 grams of fiber! There are so many reasons to eat more avocados.
Savory, spicy, salty – I now eat these with a spoon! A delicious way to get healthy fats into your daily diet and a great accompaniment to breakfast or lunch.
Killer Good Avocado Seasoning
2 T. hemp seeds
1 T. nutritional yeast
1 t. salt
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. cayenne
Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well to combine. Sprinkle a spoonful or two over a halved and cored avocado. Store the remaining seasoning in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
